OPTRIC core value · exact definition

System-Level Visibility

  • Understand the environment as a connected system
  • Make relevant relationships/dependencies visible enough to support better decisions

Put it into practice

A single record can be accurate and still leave out something important. Look for the information that connects the request to the people, services and records it affects. Show confirmed facts and open questions separately so the next person can decide with the right context. Visibility does not mean collecting everything; it means making the relevant relationships clear.

Real-life example · Fictional scenario

Fictional example · Maple Works

One report, two different counts.

Sam is preparing for another group of office staff. The delivery list shows twelve tablets. The setup list shows ten ready for use. Sam asks whether the group can start using all twelve on Monday. A delivered device is not necessarily ready for its user.

Your turn

What information would best support the decision?

Choose a response for the fictional situation above.

Choose one, then check the explanation. You can try each option. This practice is not scored or saved.

What information would best support the decision?

Your contribution

Whether you handle requests, support colleagues or work with records, you can make a relevant connection visible. Share the context needed for your role; ask an appropriate owner to clarify information you cannot confirm.
